Cactus Spam Filter for Outlook

By default, Cactus Spam Filter runs seamlessly with Outlook, no additional settings in your e-mail client are required. Just download and install our spam killer and it will immediately protect your Outlook inbox.

Moving spam e-mail to a special Outlook junk folder

E-mails classified as spam will get a tagged subject line. The tag is *** CACTUS SPAM *** and can be used to automatically move such e-mail into a junk folder. To do this you simply will have to add a message rule in Outlook. Here is a step-by-step guide.

NOTE: there is a space between the asterix and ‘CACTUS SPAM’ (***<SPACE>CACTUS SPAM<SPACE>***) and it’s important that you use them.

1. Start Outlook.
2. In the menu, select ‘Tools->Rule guide’.
3. Click on ‘New’.
4, Select ‘Start with empty rule’.
5. Click ‘Next’
6. Select ‘with the word/words in the subject’.
7. At the bottom, click on the link ‘specific words’.
6. Type *** CACTUS SPAM ***.
7. Click Add, click Ok
8. Click ‘Next’.
10. Select ‘Move to folder name’.
11. At the bottom, click on the link ‘name’.
12. Select the folder you want all spam to go to and click ‘Ok’.
13. Click ‘Finish’.
14. Click ‘Ok’.

Training Cactus Spam Filter with e-mails from Outlook

Cactus Spam Filter offers a feature that will train your filter quickly, instead of having to guide it for every incoming e-mail. If you already have a bunch of good and spam e-mails in your Outlook e-mail client, you can directly train the filter with these e-mails. Outlook doesn’t support any function to export the e-mail into their raw format, a solution is to first import them to Outlook Express and from there train the filter. Here is a step-by-step procedure to do this.
